Paper Persuasions - an invitation studio http://paperpersuasions.com/blog our take on invitations and wedding stationery and everything that goes along with it Sun, 16 Jan 2011 00:08:45 +0000 http://wordpress.org/?v=2.8.4 en hourly 1 2011 Wedding Season….(We’re Back!) http://paperpersuasions.com/blog/2011/01/16/2011-wedding-season-were-back/ http://paperpersuasions.com/blog/2011/01/16/2011-wedding-season-were-back/#comments Sun, 16 Jan 2011 00:08:45 +0000 Administrator http://paperpersuasions.com/blog/?p=828 So it’s been a few months since we announced our decision to close our invitation studio/storefront….and in that time, a baby has been born, employment has been found, social lives were re-discovered and – most of all - the wedding industry was missed! While neither of us are able to dedicate the time and energy it takes to run the invitation business to the extent that we were, we are excited to now offer our products and services though online shopping and in-person open houses.

While we realize that our open house dates and online shopping options may not fit everyones lifestyle or schedule, we hope to be able to remain a big part of the Northeast Ohio wedding community. Our store may be closed, but we are still the same friendly, customer service oriented girls that you all fell in love with….plus we get to offer bigger and better discounts now that most of our overhead had been elimated!

SHOP BRANDS ONLINE – 40% OFF *
We are now offering an even bigger discount on Carlson Craft, McPhersons and Birchcraft invitations. Shop either of the three branded websites and be rewarded with a generous 40% discount on most everything shown. Want to see it before you buy it? Most of our online items can be viewed in person at one of our Open Houses or can be purchased as a sample directly from the website. Visit http://www.paperpersuasions.com/shop-online to start shopping now!

*Carlson Craft is the only website that has been updated with the 40% discount as of 1/15. Still waiting on the other companies to update theirs. If you order in the meantime, put “40% upgrade” in the note section and we will revise your total before processing your credit card. You will receive an email telling you what your revised total is AFTER you check out and complete the transaction at regular price…but we promise, we will only run your card for the revised total.

VISIT US AT AN OPEN HOUSE
We are excited to partner with Silver Lake Country Club (Graham Road, Cuyahoga Falls) to offer you the opportunity to browse or order invitations from over 30 albums. Join us at an Open House – held on certian Sundays in the conference room from 10-2. We’ll have helpful pricing worksheets and etiquette guidelines to help you with the ordering process. Our selection is HUGE – tons of options for all styles and all budgets – plus a generous 35% discount to boot (oooohhh…and some light muchies and beverages). So far, the following dates are scheduled but they are subject to change. You must be registered to attend an open house, so be sure to click here and let us know you are coming…

Sunday 1/23/11 from 10-1

SHOP CUSTOM DESIGNED/HANDMADE ONLINE
Even though we no longer have the luxury of a large studio space to stock hundreds of paper colors, we do love to hand make invitations (and we got to be pretty well known for the quality of our work too!). We have decided to offer a few of our favorite custom made invitations and other stationery through our Etsy shop. Visit: http://www.etsy.com/shop/paperpersuasions?ref=pr_shop to see what we have listed this month! If you fell in love with one of our custom invites from last year or before, we may still be able to make it for you. Feel free to inquire about any specific ideas you have!

2010 Wedding Season to be our last….(well, kind of) http://paperpersuasions.com/blog/2010/09/03/2010-wedding-season-to-be-our-last/ http://paperpersuasions.com/blog/2010/09/03/2010-wedding-season-to-be-our-last/#comments Fri, 03 Sep 2010 00:33:20 +0000 Administrator http://paperpersuasions.com/blog/2010/09/03/2010-wedding-season-to-be-our-last/ 1/15/2011 – All that stuff below is reflective of our journey so far and I couldn’t bear to delete the post – even though we have decided to continue in the wedding industry.  Stacy welcomed a perfect little baby girl into this world on November 5, 2010 – Addison Marie. She is enjoying motherhood and being a SAHM. Click here to see how Paper Persuasions can still be a part of your big day!

- Steph

After five wonderful years in the wedding industry, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the closing of Paper Persuasions. Our decision is based solely on a desire by each of us to focus more attention on our family lives. We feel truly blessed to have fulfilled this dream over the past five years and we appreciate your business and support which allowed us the opportunity to succeed.

Effective immediately, we are no longer accepting new invitation orders. Through September and early October, we will be in the studio exclusively working on the production and completion of all orders currently in process. Any customers who ordered invitations through us are still able to place orders for coordinating accessories; please contact us to schedule an appointment.

We want to thank all of our past customers for contributing to our overwhelming success. It’s hard to believe that just five years ago, our business was a mere hobby! It only blossomed into a successful storefront because of the continued support and praise of our customers, many of whom still send referrals our way. We are honored to have shared in such a special part of your lives and we appreciate you voting us the Best Invitation Provider in Akron/Canton for the past three years in a row!

We have put our hearts and souls into Paper Persuasions, and our decision to close was difficult to say the least. Although we have enjoyed both the challenges and rewards that come with self-employment, we are both looking forward to beginning families and achieving a better work/life balance. As we move into the next stage of our lives, we would love to see our business continue to flourish under new ownership. Any inquiries regarding this opportunity should be directed to info@paperpersuasions.com.

We will always treasure the relationships we have built with our customers and fellow vendors …and we wish you the very best in your future endeavors.

With appreciation and warm regards,

Stephanie Knirk & Stacy School

Real Brides: Karrie and Chris http://paperpersuasions.com/blog/2010/04/24/real-brides-karrie-and-chris/ http://paperpersuasions.com/blog/2010/04/24/real-brides-karrie-and-chris/#comments Sat, 24 Apr 2010 14:33:45 +0000 Administrator http://paperpersuasions.com/blog/?p=787 carrie chruchwell / chris musbach

If there was ever a bride qualified to give a testimonial about our company, it would be Karrie! She and Chris explored just about every facet of Paper Persuasions. Their save-the-dates were ordered from one of the many catalog vendors we carry, their invitations and programs were custom designed and made by hand in our studio, and their menus, table numbers and escort cards were made by them – utilizing our DIY project services. Although most of our meetings took place with Karrie and her mom, Chris was definitely involved in the process which we love to see! And honestly, as much attention as their invitation and program still get (they are included on our display wall), it feels as if they are current clients since we are talking about them so often! After all, they were the couple who inspired us to create a ceremony program with a tissue pocket attached to the back cover. And my-oh-my, you wouldn’t believe how many people love that idea!  Check out a few of their fantabulous photos below….as well as a brief interview with Karrie about the wedding process and her experience with us.

mr and mrs chris musbach / marriott key center wedding

What part of the wedding planning was the most fun?
We had the most fun personalizing and putting our own special touch on all the details of our big day! While it was AWESOME to have amazing vendors who we could trust to take care of everything for us, the most fun we had was working with them to make sure the final product was just what we wanted. From save the dates & custom invitations to the goodie bags and homemade wine for our overnight guests, we loved every minute of it!

What part of the wedding planning was the least fun?
With so many decisions to make, it is easy to involve parents, family, friends, etc and get their opinions. It started to be hard though when we worried about making everybody happy…that can get stressful and you have to remember not to lose sight of what you and your fiancée want!

Did you receive comments from your guests regarding the invitations and accessories?
Most definitely! Many of our guests wrote notes on the response cards truly raving about how gorgeous the invitations were! People were still talking about them at the wedding – along with the other accessories…Chris’s guy friends were even commenting!!!!

Please list anything you would like to include regarding your experience with Paper Persuasions:
I can’t say enough about our experience with Stacy and Stephanie!! They are truly remarkable people and have surely left a permanent mark of excellence on this industry, even with the few years they have been in business! I came across Paper Persuasions on a random internet search and they were the first place we looked and my mom and I were SOLD from that day forward! They are professional, prompt, creative, thorough, and, most of all, just so much fun to work with! During the custom design of our invitations and programs they listened to our thoughts and ideas, added their expertise and style, and before we knew it we had the most unique, gorgeous stationery and accessories we’ve ever seen. They even helped us order some fantastic save-the-dates by catalog as well as design some DIY accessories…again with great skill and perfection! The quality of their work is over and above any expectation…just look around their studio! Search no further – they are the best of the best!

Do you have any advice for the bride-to-be currently planning her wedding?
Everyone tells brides to “slow down” and “take it all in”….and it is really true! The day goes so fast, my best advice is to really try to step back and let all the excitement sink in….even just for a minute. Whatever you do, don’t let something little ruin such a big day…for the one little thing that may go wrong, there are a million other things that go perfectly and will make your day unforgettable! Planning-wise, my best advice is…don’t skimp on things like invitations, linens and flowers. Your invitations really will set the tone for the event and get everyone as excited as you are! The flowers and linens really pull any room together and keep that “wow” factor going!

Here is Karrie and Chris’s vendor list!

Weekly Recap – March 13th, 20th http://paperpersuasions.com/blog/2010/03/25/weekly-recap-march-13th-20th/ http://paperpersuasions.com/blog/2010/03/25/weekly-recap-march-13th-20th/#comments Thu, 25 Mar 2010 15:37:41 +0000 Administrator http://paperpersuasions.com/blog/?p=769 At some point last year – maybe October or November - we declared purple  THE color for 2010. It appears we were correct. If I had to guess, I would say that 15- 20% of all invitation orders we have placed or handmade so far this season contain a shade of purple either in the paper or the ink choices. Purple works well with silver OR gold as a metallic accents making it a great choice. Three out of 10 invites from this weekly recap contain purple and yet the style of each invitation and the color pairings look completely different!

weekly-recap-feb-13-and-20

1)      catalog ordered pocketfold wedding invitation with garnet printing. the design was incorporated in to the invitation panel and inserts.

2)      custom designed pocketfold wedding invitation in silver and purple. Several crystals were applied within the design and front tag to add some bling!

3)      catalog ordered pocketfold wedding invitation in black and teal. the design was incorporated in the invitation panel and inserts.

4)      flat panel invitation in black, teal and white. this is on of our favorite catalog orders this season. not only is the design awesome, the ink color pairing turned out fantastic. this invitation comes from an album where you can pair any two ink colors together to make the invitation fit your color scheme.

5)      flat panel invitation with pearl embossed border. this invitation is a prime example of how you can take a traditional invitation, use a modern font combo and end up with a very classy, current looking ensemble!

6)      flat panel invitation printed on soft white linen paper with a distinctive pearl border. another traditional invitation made current with a modern monogram and font choices

7)      our first order from the new value with style book. if you are looking for ‘graphic design’ looking invitations without the ‘graphic design price’ this album has plenty of offerings. this slate grey and yellow wedding invitation is actually double sided. the invitation information is on the front and then the accommodations and reception information on the reverse.

8)      custom designed pocketfold wedding invitation in pink, black and white. crystals were applied to the design for a little added sparkle!

9)      this two-tone purple wedding invitation is another of my favorites this year. (not shown: the super funky orange envelopes the bride ordered to go with the ensemble)

10)  custom designed pocket fold wedding invitation with daisy theme. this purple/pink and green combination looks spectacular and perfectly suited for their outdoor ceremony at manakiki! A single crystal was applied to the center of the daisy on the invitation panel for some bling.

11)  a small collection of cocktail napkins that have been ordered through us. a few of them using custom monograms we designed for the clients!

I am doing the best I can over here! Picking up where I left off, this post covers weeks ending February 27th and March 6th. Oh and recaps for March 13th and 20th are not far behind. Hope to have them finished up later today. Wedding Season is in full swing for us right now and I am not able to share all the orders and designs that we’ve received and/or made but here’s a glimpse at some of our favorites….

14)  catalog ordered pocketfold invitation. a flourish/swirl design was incorporated on the invitation panel and both inserts
